Conduct of Lectures on Human Rights Advisory on Strict Observance of Human Rights-Based Policing and Police Operational Procedures and Detention Facility Inspection to Parang MPS, Sultan Kudarat MPS, Sultan Mastura MPS, South Upi MPS and Upi MPS

PCINSP JOAQUIN T AGTARAP, JR., Regional Human Rights Desk Officer (RHRDO) conducted lectures and detention facility inspection to Parang MPS, Sultan Kudarat MPS, Sultan Mastura MPS, South Upi MPS and Upi MPS, Maguindanao PPO from February 14-16, 2017.
The lectures were held at the Conference Rooms of respective MPS wherein the RHRDO integrated in the activity the lectures of Human Rights advisory and strict observance of Human Rights-based policing and Police Operational Procedures. Further, the personnel of Parang, Sultan Kudarat, Sultan Mastura, South Upi and Upi MPS were reminded on the respect for human rights in all police operations.
Likewise, the RHRDO distributed leaflets on Miranda Doctrine and reading materials from CHR 12 and RHRC ARMM and inspected their respective detention facilities. Attached are pictorials and other documentations of the activity.
In addition, during the station visit at South Upi MPS, representatives from the Regional Human Rights Commission-ARMM led by Miss RAIZA A ABAS, Special Investigator III, Maguindanao and Mr. MOHAIMEN U ALI made queries on a letter complaint filed by a Lumad leader addressed to RHRC-ARMM on an alleged HRV committed by private individuals in South Upi. Treating these letter complaints, PO1 Carlo James J Clarete, Investigator, South Upi MPS made representations on the action taken by South Upi MPS against the complaint.
