Welcome to Camp Brigadier General Salipada K Pendatun. A camp for all time, for all people and for all events, home of heroes and dedicated public servants and not just a facility for sheltering a Regional Office but a confluence of people well-equipped with the character and professionalism needed to unite an area of culturally-diverse people. These are the words that can best describe Camp Brigadier General Salipada K Pendatun, the home of the brave peace advocates.

BRIEF HISTORY OF THE CAMP

This time honored tradition evolved from the forerunners, former Philippine Constabulary and the Integrated National Police, prior to the passing of Republic Act No. 6975 otherwise known as the PNP Law on January 29, 1991. It is one occasion where the gallantry and loyalty of PNP personnel are publicly highlighted, acknowledged and respected, heralding the heroism, bravery and faithfulness that distinguishes a breed of public servant out to pursue a noble purpose.

It is also a fitting moment to pay tribute to the members of the police force that for most of their lifetime, choose to heed the call of duty in effecting justice and peace in our society. Men and women who set the pace amidst pressures contribute for an effective organization.

The camp was established in 1971 as the Fourth Philippine Constabulary Zone through General Orders Number 224 issued by Headquarters Philippine Constabulary on June 03, 1971, comprising the 14 provinces of Surigao, Lanao, Davao, Agusan, Zamboanga, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao, Camiguin, Misamis, Bukidnon, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi.

Because of its location and accessibility to a seaport that is basic requisite for strategic defense, Parang, a coastal town of Maguindanao was chosen to become the site of the 4^th PC Zone. Thus, it derived the original name Camp Parang. Camp Parang was renamed to Camp Brigadier General Salipada K Pendatun in recognition of the gallantry in action during World War II and the only Muslim Leader who received the highest war awards from the United States, South Vietnam and the Philippines

Brigadier General DOMINGO TUTAAN was named first Zone Commander and succeeded by several other zone commanders. After then, the 4^th PC Zone was abolished for the restructuring of all PC commands into a regionalized set up, thus this camp was made then the PC/INP Regional Command 12.

Brigadier General ALFREDO OLANO became the first PC/INP Regional Commander and Colonel Rogelio Martin was the last Regional Commander when Region 12 was again reorganized to pave the way for the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).Police Chief Supt. MILTON TIBURCIO was designated as the first ARMM Police Regional Director on April 01, 1991 followed by several other Officers.

The enactment of Republic Act No. 6734 in 1990, otherwise known as the ARMM’s charter by former President Corazon Aquino brought a major realignment in the geographical structures of the administrative Regions of 9 and 12. Maguindanao and Lanaodel Sur were fused to the ARMM along with the island provinces of Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi. Thus, PNP ARMM was activated.

On September 4, 2019, PRO ARMM was renamed to PRO BAR by virtue of NAPOLCOM Resolution Number 2019-639 pursuant to Republic Act No. 11054, otherwise known as Organic Law for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.PRO BAR had started its gradual takeover of additional areas like Cotabato City and other municipalities that will be merged in Bangsamoro.

Through the years, the camp with its 200 hectares of sprawling greens and lush forest cover has evolved to become one of cleanest, greenest and most beautiful camp nationwide. Amenities like the Illana Bay Golf and Country Club and the Camp Beach Resort are open to allow not only the members of this office but also their dependents as well as the general public to enjoy some of the leisure and amenities, only a major city can offer.
