Former Violent Extremists belonging to Karialan/Karialen faction of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters(BIFF) surrendered to the folds of the Government in pursuit to a peaceful and progressive life on August 24, 2021, at HQs 1st Mechanized, PA, Barangay Kamasi, Ampatuan, Maguindanao.

          The surrender of ten (10) Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters(BIFF) was the result of joint PNP and AFP Intelligence Operation and through the efforts and initiatives of the Datu Saudi Ampatuan Municipal Local Government Unit (MLGU) headed by the Local Chief Executive, Hon. EDRIS A SINDATOC, Municipal Mayor, Datu Saudi Ampatuan.

         Report from Maguindanao PPO identified the surrenderees as: Tho Maliga Tega-Leader; Said Abdul Salipada; Saiden Kusain Mohamad; Noroden Maliga Tega; Muhaliden K Salipada; Jahid Tampipi Silad; Kamarudin K Salipada; Homidie K Mando; Salahusin K Salipada, and Amauldin Ahmad Esmael. With them were their Firearms and Ammunitions to wit: 1 Unit M16 with SN DL622753; 1 Unit M1 Carbine (defaced); 2 Units Cal. 30 Garand Rifle with SN: 489783: SN 4264614; 1 Unit Cal. 50 Sniper (HM) with SN: 148227; 2 clips and 10rds ammunition Cal. 30 for Garand Rifle;1 Unit RPG (HM) with two (2) ammunitions and three (3) charges.

          Said surrenderees who expressed their desire to abandon the ideology of armed violence and chose to live a life peacefully will be provided financial and livelihood assistance and help them reintegrate into their respective communities as renewed law-abiding individuals through the Maguindanao Province Flagship Program dubbed as AGILA-HAVEN (Anak na may Ginintuang Layunin upang Hintuan Ang Violent Extremism Ngayon).

           Police Regional Office of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region is serious in its effort to End the Local Armed Conflict in the region. This surrender surely brings positive impact towards sustainable peace and development. Likewise, PRO BAR continuously appeals to the members of the Bangsamoro Freedom Fighters to lay down their arms and give the government a chance to give them a better life with their families and away from the threats of armed struggle.
