Mid-year Bonus and PBB for PNP Personnel

Since last week, the PNP released P1.9-billion for the mid-year bonus of its 155,000 active duty uniformed and non-uniformed personnel. The mid-year bonus represents 50 percent of the Base Pay plus half of the 5,000 cash gift for all government workers as mandated for by the law.

With regards to the Performance Based Bonus (PBB) for Fiscal Year 2014, the PNP through the PBB Performance Management Group shall undertake the necessary planning, preparation and assessment for the proper implementation of the PBB FY 2014 through these four phases:
- Setting and cascading of performance targets;
- Compliance of the good governance condition;
- Determination of eligibility and ranking of units and offices; and
- Determination of eligibility and individual ranking of personnel per units and offices.

The PNP leadership clarifies that the PBB is a merit-based incentive program that relies on the performance of a government employee, so technically, not all personnel will receive the same amount of PBB.

Nonetheless, the PNP leadership assures all its personnel that the process and distribution of the PBB will be done with transparency and all honestly. The PBB Performance Management Group, in coordination with ITMS and DPL, will set-up a Help Desk to respond to queries and comments to PBB, the targets and the accomplishment of the PNP.
