Maguindanao Police Provincial Office presented Wednesday April 01, 2020, four individuals surrendered and vowed to become law-adibing citizens.
Ceremony held at Camp Datu Aklan, Shariff Aguak, Drug Enforcement Unit Chief, Police Major Erwin Tabora presented surrendered firearms and personalities to Police Colonel Arnold Santiago, Provincial Director, Maguindanao police.
PCOL Santiago said the identities of the surrenderers were withheld for security reasons. He also cleared that individuals were NOT part of any groups of MILF, MNLF and BIFF. Surendered individuals state that they possessed firearms for the purpose of defending themselves against RIDO in their locality. They brought along with them the following firearms:
1. One (1) unit Springfield cal .30M1 US Rifle SN 308842; one (1) mag clip w/ eight (8) live ammos.
2. One (1) unit Springfield cal .30M1 US Rifle SN 5901043; one (1) mag clip.
3. One (1) unit Springfield cal .30M1 US Rifle converted M14 SN 2195049; one (1) mag w/ five (5) live ammos.
4.One (1) unit Wincester cal .30M1 US Rifle converted M14 SN 1209818.
Personalities were properly released to their immediate relatives after documentation and receipt of initial assistance from Governor Bai Mariam Mangudadatu.
Meanwhile, Police Brigadier General Manuel M Abu, Regional Director of Police Regional Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region is optimistic that more lawless elements in the area of Maguindanao would surrender and return to the fold of the law.
